Big News Update from Watkins Community Center!

Something magical is washing ashore right here in Honea Path, and you won’t want to miss it!
We are excited to announce our upcoming youth Theater Camp production: Ariel: Life on Land.

Ever wonder what happened after the happily ever after? Well, it turns out Ariel and Prince Eric
have packed up their treasures and moved to Honea Path! They've officially settled down in our
very own hometown to open a brand-new thrift shop called The Curio Cabinet.

This delightful, fun-filled play tells the story of their hilarious adventures as they adjust to life on
land, interact with local shoppers, and navigate the unique charm of the Honea Path community.
Come find out whats really going on in Ariel’s curio shop!

Summer Theater Camp

Each July, during the second full week, WCC sponsors a fun week-long summer theater camp for children ages 6-16. Each camp theme is a fairy tale chosen by the writers and directors. Campers dive into the world of theater, learning everything from creating sets and costumes, to writing parts of the play, projecting their voices and memorizing lines, all while having fun and making new friends. The week ends with two community play performances where friends, family and neighbors come together to enjoy the show. Don’t miss out! Registration starts in May. You can find all the details on the WCC website and local posters. It's a super exciting event that everyone looks forward to!

Festival of Trees

Each year the Watkins Community Center hosts a Festival of Trees in December. It takes place the first Saturday in December in the Watkins Community Center after the Christmas parade and is free to the public. There are lots of beautifully decorated trees to view, entertainment, vendors, and crafts for the kids. Santa is also in attendance. The Honea Path Museum is open during this event as well. Christmas Trees remain on display throughout the month of December.
